Resort information: Morzine, a ski resort with something for everyone
Overview: Morzine has everything you could look for in a ski resort offering – a traditional, picturesque mountain village, ski runs for all levels, great snow and weather conditions, excellent choice of après ski and restaurants.
Being the most northerly ski resort in France, Morzine experiences much better snow than other resorts at a similar relatively low height. And later in the season the slopes up at Avoriaz (just a few minutes away) offer snow sure conditions which are suited to all abilities and family ski groups.
On the mountain: Set in the heart of the Portes du Soleil, the largest linked ski area in the world, giving you access to 650km of ski slopes and miles of off piste, the area covers 12 stations with a vast range of skiing over both France and Switzerland and it’s all on one ski pass!
Pistes and Lifts: The Portes du Soleil area boasts 650kms of groomed pistes and 286 separate runs: 39 green, 111 blue, 108 red, 28 black). Additionally there are 3 half pipes and 7 snow parks. This amazing network is served by 226 ski lifts with the top lift going to 2850m.
Apres ski: On and off the slopes Morzine has a range of hospitality to rival its skiing. There are 11 mountain restaurants and the nightlife and apres ski are excellent.
Whether you are after traditional Savoyard establishments, more modern smart ones like Le Boudha Café or just somewhere to shoot pool and watch the game like Le Dixie Bar then Morzine has got it covered – and then some!
Travel information: Morzine is one of the most accessible resorts in the French Alps.
By Air: Just 50 miles from the Geneva (about an hour’s transfer), Morzine is easily accessible by air. Geneva is served by all the low cost airlines as well BA many charter airlines.
