Pila, Aosta Valley resort information

Pila is a medium sized resort that sitting above the famous town of Aosta nestled on the Italian side of the Mont Blanc range. Not well known outside Italy the resort is a hidden gem and with its beautiful scenery and night time view down to Aosta.

On the mountain:

While mainly known as an intermediate or family resort its location in the Mont Blanc range means there is some great and varied terrain including some really good off piste with open bowls and trees runs for when there are freshies to be had!

The resort is ideal for beginners with uncrowded slopes for training and practising while more experienced skiers and snowboarders will love the steep descents available both on and off piste as well as the excellent park to take your skills into as well.

Eating and drinking:

Generally very friendly and excellent value, the quality and cost of a lunch/coffees/beers on the mountain put France to shame! The après ski in Pila is very good with several bars on the mountain to choose from. Later on the scene pretty laid back with just one night club but lots of good restaurants and bars.

Travel information:

Pila is very easily accessible with Turin airport approximately an hour away and it is also just a short transfer from both Milan and Geneva. We are happy to help arrange airport transfers as part of our service.

For those wishing to come by train there is a regular and inexpensive service from Turin into Aosta from where it is possible to get the bubble or a bus up the mountain to Pila.

If you are driving from the UK you need to head towards Chamonix and then through the Mt Blanc tunnel to Aosta. Once through the tunnel it is just 20 mins to Aosta and another 20 minutes or so up the mountain.

Please feel free to contact us for any further travel advice you may need, we are always happy to help.
